Teen Songwriting (3-Day Summer Program for Ages 12+)

In this 3-day experience camp, students will have guidance from professional musician and New School graduate, Devlin Tenney, in writing and arranging. Students will perform their own original songs at a Friday night café (from 5:00-6:30) for their family and friends. All genres of music are welcome in the program. Students should have basic knowledge of their instrument and music theory, but no prior writing experience is necessary. Mornings will be spent learning structure and elements of composition and afternoons will be writing and rehearsing their original compositions. All students will receive individual guidance from the instructor. (Class is limited to 10 students.) Time: Wednesday and Thursday: 9:00-3:00 and Friday 9:00-5:00 with a 5:00 performance in our Hub.

Guitarists should bring instrument. WorkspaceCT has 1 piano and 1 keyboard students can use. Keyboardists can also bring their keyboard which can be stored for the week in a safe, locked space. Contact tenney@edadvance.org for questions.
